I co-wrote a story called "ChurchFight" with Aaron Burch and it has just been published in issue two of WOHE LIT. It is the first time I've co-written a story (more are coming with Aaron!) and it was a lot of fun sending this story back and forth. I hope you like it. Thank you to Kevin Maloney for publishing our work! You can read our short piece here. And thanks, as always, for reading!

New Fiction in Hobart
I'm thrilled that Hobart published my short story "M80" today in honor of Independence Day! This is a story about a guy with nine fingers that comes back for more on July 4th. I love Hobart and I'm so honored they published this story on my favorite holiday. Big thanks to founding editor and fellow writer Aaron Burch for publishing this story. You can read it here. As always, thanks for reading!

Families Among Us made Necessary Fiction's Year-End Recommended Reading List
Families Among Us made Necessary Fiction's year-end recommended reading list, along with great books from Chang-Rae Lee, Jenny Offill, Julia Elliott, Dorthe Nors, Christy Crutchfield, Aaron Burch, and Mike Meginnis. Big thanks to Steve Himmer and Brian Seemann for including me!
I'm humbled to be the only chapbook on this year-end list, surrounded by books published by Riverhead, Vintage, Graywolf, Tin House, Melville House, Coffe House Press, and Two Dollar Radio. Big thanks to Black Lawrence Press for publishing my chapbook, which has been released to more sales and praise than I thought imaginable. So thank you to everyone who has bought a copy, the little chapbook that could.
And if you'd still like to buy a copy of Families Among Us, you can do so here. Thanks!

Treat Yourself: Order Monkeybicycle8

My story "Donald Mason's City Inspection and the Stakeout Standoff" is featured in Monkeybicycle8, which is now available to ORDER! In addition to my story there is groundbreaking fiction from Ben Loory (read his story "The TV" in the New Yorker), Aaron Burch, Steve Himmer, Curtis Smith, Summer Block, and many more.
I'd like to thank Steven Seighman and Shya Scanlon (author of FORECAST) for believing in this story and putting it in print. Isn't a story title like "Donald Mason's City Inspection and the Stakeout Standoff" enough to stir your curiosity? If you purchase your copy of Monkeybicycle8 before March 15th you'll get a free back issue of your choosing. So what are you waiting for?
And if you are in New York City on March 16th, come out to the Cake Shop for the official release party and Monkeybicycle Lightning Round! Reading Series. I'll be reading that night and I hope to see you there!
