Excited to be Teaching at DFWCon 2025 this weekend!

This weekend at DFWCon 2025, I'll be teaching a 60-minute seminar on Using Cinematic Techniques To Bring Your Short Fiction To Life—where we'll explore how to transform static narratives into vivid, immersive experiences by borrowing powerful storytelling tools from film and screenwriting. We'll dive deep into scene construction, visual storytelling, dynamic pacing, and sensory details that pull readers right into the action.

I'm also joining a fantastic panel: Bury the Lede: How To Get Your Book's Message, Themes, Lessons And Beliefs Across Without A Hammer—because sometimes the most powerful truths arrive on quiet feet.

With 90+ sessions, 300+ writers, 13 agents and editors, and a full weekend of learning and networking at the Hurst Conference Center, this is shaping up to be an inspiring literary weekend in the heart of DFW. Whether you're finishing your first novel, perfecting your craft, or looking to connect with agents and fellow writers, there's something here for everyone.

If you're in the area and looking to take your writing to the next level, I'd love to see you there!
