here. Alarcón has crafted a literary noir, a page-turner with plenty of suspense. But the novel is more than an atmospheric mystery, and you should

Tomorrowland, a new story collection from Joseph Bates. My review appears in the newest issue of
Mid-American Review (34.1). Bates has written an affecting, often hilarious book of stories. You should check it out.
